Happily Ever After ...

Otto

My husband and I adopted Otto a year ago.  We have Changed his name to Ollie now, since it seems to match him better.  We got him because our 14-year old Rottweiler, Charlie had passed on, and our Female Rottweiler, Rosie, was going into sever depression without him around.

Her and Ollie hit it off great. And have been best friends ever since.  A major plus is, that they are about the same age, so can keep up with each other well. (about 5 years now each)  They love each other!  I am just glad that we could find a good friend for Rosie.  That and I love adopting rather then going to a breeder or pet store to get my "Kids".

Ollie has caught on fast with the help of Rosie.  He knows how to sit, stay, lay down, and shake now.  Ollie and Rosie both love to play fetch, tug-a-war, and go on walks with my husband and I.  And best of all, they both ride great in my car when we need to go to the vets for check ups and shots.  We just took them both last week to get their boosters, heart worm check and heart worm preventative medications.  Ollie has also put on some weight and mussel mass since we got him.  He was relay skinny before.  And Rosie has lost some that she needed to get off with the help of Ollie.  (from all the playing they do.)

Both Ollie and Rosie have their dog beds at the foot of our beds, so they act like our alarm clock if we do not get up on time.  They have saved me at least 5 times now from being late to work, when our power went out and the alarm clock did not go off.  Ha ha ha!
The kids who live in our addition, also love them both.  They will come over and play ball with Ollie and Rosie at least 4 times a week. Ollie and Rosie love it!
Ollie is the Rott with the Blue caller, and Rosie is the Rott with the Red caller in the pictures.

Thanks!

Zoë

Hi!

I adopted "Zoë" last Friday. My husband LOVED her. We changed her name to "Pepper". She is getting used to her walks (she prances) and is doing very well with housebreaking. I've taken her to Feeder's Supply to pick out her own toys and she had tons of fun. Pepper is signed up for puppy obedience training too. She has her own toy box filled with toys that she is constantly chewing on. Pepper is trying very hard to make friends with our two cats who are wary at this point. She loves to cuddle up in bed and sleep with us, gives us lots of love and companionship and is an absolute treasure to be with. Pepper is fitting in very well with our family. On Friday, one of your staff said that she was waiting for the right owner to come along - we are happy that we found our perfect puppy. Kim, Scott, Mad Max, Jasmin and Pepper :)

Paige

I just wanted to drop a quick note about Paige. I just adopted her Saturday, April 5 and she is doing great. She is so beautiful and she is the most affectionate cat I have ever had. I love her "motor". It's loud and kicks on after just one stroke. She is adjusting well to her new big brother (an 80lb dog) and her new big sister (another cat). She rubs all over the dog and lets him sniff her and she has even smacked him when he tried to play to rough. (He was shocked, but he still likes her.) As for my other cat, well she is taking a little longer to accept Paige, but I anticipated this. It will work out in time, though. Just this morning they were within 3 feet of each other with no hissing or growling coming from my first cat - that's progress!!! I will send pictures of Paige in her new home soon. In the meantime, keep up the good work. And thank you for keeping the critters safe and healthy until they can find a permanent home.

Update: Here's another update on Paige. I adopted her at the beginning of April and she is doing great. Her personality is really shining through. She is so playful and affectionate. She and my other cat are playing well together. And she loves my dog, too. Now, both of my cats will clean his ears and his head every day and he just loves it! I don't know why anyone would ever give up such a beautiful and loving and funny cat as Paige, but now I have her and she is such a wonderful addition to my little family

Snowi

Hi Phyllis & Everyone

It has been nearly 1 month since I left there. I am now a happy spoiled girl with my new mommy & daddy and brothers. I have had my first Christmas tree and stocking and everything. I liked to sit under the tree. I was a perfect angel on my long trip to my new home I did not cry. I even purred on the way home.

I have 2 kitty brothers TK-Tiki and Mickey D. they are both kittens and very active. They sometimes pester me to play and I do not want to play rough and tumble. They sometimes lay close to me and we are getting used to each other
I love to play with string toys and Mom & Dad play with me. I also like to have tummy rubs. I sleep in the bed with Mommy & Daddy & the sometimes the kittens. Mommy & Daddy tell me that I am a very special girl and that that they love me very much.
Thank you for taking care of me until my new Mommy and Daddy found me.

    Saturday and Karma

Hello Phyllis & all,

Attached are a few pictures of Saturday, Karma, and the kitty who wandered
into our yard (on the night we brought Karma home) and then came into our
dog room and was eating out of the dog's bowl with all four dogs gathered
round. We've named him (?) Fearless. Our cat Loco is not happy - but we're hoping she will come to tolerate him. Thanks for the good work you do!

Amber

New name – Bailey Bear

"Hi, My name is Tabatha. James adopted Amber on Monday and I just wanted to let you know that she is so adorable. We are giving her lots of loving and attention. I have fallen in love with her! However her name is not Amber, I have decided to call her Bailey Bear. She reminded me of a little teddy bear. She is a great companion. Here are a couple of pictures that we took last night. Thanks again for having a shelter for cute little puppies like her and finding families for them. Thanks and I will keep you updated on her new life in our family."

Dumpling

New name - Maizey

Just dropping a note to let you know Maizey (dumpling) is doing wonderful. She had her first visit to the vet today. She now weighs 22.7 lbs. She has been potty trained for a week now. She has learned how to sit and lie down and fetch. She's the best puppy. She loves to sleep with her mom and dad. We'll give you another update soon. If you happen to have a record of how much she weighed before we'd love to know. Thanks again for putting her picture on the internet for us to find. She's the best addition to our home.

Thanks!
Lindsay and Ricky

If you've adopted one of our pets, email us and tell us how great it's going and we'll put it on this page. You may also send a picture of you and your new pet, if you like.
